About Amy Michelle

Amy Michelle is a new Grace Records Nashville LLC recording artist, with a voice of depth, sincerity, and spiritual resilience deep casual cool. Her musical pattern blends contemporary country with rootsy, gospel influences and listeners are drawn to her raw honesty in music for comfort and connectivity. Amy's new single Open Hands will release soon, launching her recording career that has been forged by significant life experience and connects hearts to hope.

Amy Michelle's musical beginnings started at an early age. "I remember singing in church and began playing piano at four years old," Amy shared, "My mother was a piano teacher, and she taught me until I was nine… I just continued learning and playing on my own from there." These initial roots eventually provided a foundation for a life in music that would be further rooted in choir experiences, would involve an application as an instrumentalist for a high school show choir, and eventually training in a formal classical context as a college music education major.

But Amy's songwriting didn't truly come to life until much later. "I can remember as a teenager sitting up late nights playing the piano, just making things up… I call it doodling—little pieces here and there, but never completing a full picture," she shares. It was during a deeply personal crisis that those pieces came together. "It wasn’t until my marriage began to fall apart a few years ago that I began to solidify those fragments into a musical whole. Writing became my therapy… But I have become more and more free in sharing what is inside my head and heart because God has given me a story to tell—and I firmly believe that my story is not for me."

Amy’s influences are a mix of classical elegance and modern storytelling. "Instrumentally, though no one else might pick up on it, I am keenly aware of subtleties of Brahms, Chopin, Beethoven, Bach, and Mozart… Lyrically, I feel like I align very much with Nichole Nordeman’s visual storytelling through her picturesque words." These inspirations help shape a sound that is both refined and relatable, with melodies that stir the soul and lyrics that speak truth with clarity and grace.

In October 2023, Amy celebrated a major milestone—the release of her first album of original piano solos. "It was so exciting to release my first album… I can’t wait to get started on more projects—both vocal and instrumental albums!" she exclaims. With Open Hands soon to debut, fans will be introduced to the next layer of her artistry—her voice and message united in song.

While she’s still early in her career and hasn’t yet amassed a list of awards or chart-toppers, Amy sees her purpose in more eternal terms. “My goal is neither fame nor fortune. I firmly believe God has a story of hope and encouragement through the words He gives me. I just want that message to be heard. I want to be used.”

That purpose is deeply rooted in a life-altering experience—the stillbirth of her first child. "My first child was stillborn 20 years ago only a few days before her due date. That has shaped so much of who I am today," Amy says. She references Ecclesiastes 3:11 as a foundational truth: "He has made everything [even the ugliest, most painful moments] beautiful in its time." The heartbreak, she believes, is not the end of the story but a chapter in a greater narrative of healing and redemption. "My child is whole and thriving in eternity in this very moment. Every time I think of her, eternity is on my mind."

For Amy, performing is not just about entertainment—it’s ministry. “One can expect to be moved and encouraged through powerful words of vulnerable authenticity,” she explains. “And led to examine how they can be brought to deeper intimacy with Christ, even in the midst of their own struggles.
