""Silvertone Blues" was learned from John Hartford and was written by the late Benny Martin about a Silvertone Guitar he ordered from the Sears Roebuck catalogue when he was a boy. Benny says that "the postman brought it on a big black 'hoss' in a paper box 4 feet long" The second verse describes him making "a dollar and a dime and a quarter" busking (on lower Broadway in Nashville) in front of Hardeman's Feed Store on a Saturday afternoon.
