About Tyler Ammerman

Brand new artist Tyler Ammerman is not your typical Christian Country artist.  He is a little bit southern rock, a little folk, a little blues, and a lot of all his musical influences over the years, including Southern Gospel from his dad.  He describes himself as an “artist,” because he likes to think outside the box, not doing the typical.

Tyler is well studied when it comes to scripture and knows what he believes. He studied with Harvard X, Harvard’s coursework in the study of scripture, but enjoys studying on his own to support what he believes.

Tyler shares his musical heritage, “When my father Eric Ammerman was young he used to play drums with Phillips, Craig, and Dean before they were famous. Whenever we visit Texas, we still visit with Dan Dean.  I'm a distant relative of Johnny Cash.  My grandpa was an award-winning songwriter and played on the Louisiana Hayride circuit.  My great-grandfather Otis was a professional violin player in the St. Louis Orchestra and reportedly got to play as a stand-in for Buck Owens.  My cousin Dana McDowell is married to Ronnie McDowell's son, Ronnie Jr., and I've had the opportunity to play harmonica with Ronnie”s band before. As a professional harmonica player, I’ve had the opportunity to play on stage with people like The Crabb Family, the Gospel Enforcers, Jeff and Sheri Easter, and many others.”

Tyler carries quite the heritage and musical experience.  He plays several instruments as he explains, “I started playing harmonica first. After that, I learned drums and then guitar.  Apparently, when I was four years old, my family bought me a blues band harmonica at Cracker Barrel, and by the time we got home, I was playing what sounded like music to them.  I still like playing blues harmonica the most on stage.   When I'm alone, I like playing guitar, because it's the most versatile.  I started playing guitar seriously when I was around 13.  I play drums, guitar, bass, harmonica, a little bit of keyboard, a bit of steel guitar, and most woodwind instruments.”

Being a songwriter also came at an early age for Tyler.  He was around ten when he started to write songs but says he did not become truly passionate about it until he was closer to fourteen.  Tyler says it became therapeutic for him to express himself.  Most of the songs he only wrote to and for himself, “not for anyone else to ever hear, but to help something deep inside to come out,” he shares.

When asked what he was thinking that drove him to write “Thinking Just Like Satan,” Tyler went deep scripturally as he answered, “Theologically, the Bible describes Satan as the ‘god of this world’ or ‘the ruler of the kingdom of the air, who influences disobedient people’ (2 Corinthians 4:4, Ephesians 2:2). I John 5:19 states that ‘the whole world is under the control of the evil one.’ According to Scripture, anyone who is not united with Christ by faith is still walking according to the spirit of the air or Satan himself.  So, believe it or not, this song is a theological point, rather than a personal statement.”

Tyler would like to have the biggest impact and ministry in music he can while living a simple, quiet life with his family.  Tyler is a semi-truck driver who loves the Lord, his wife, Sarah and his son, Caleb (CJ).  Tyler’s wife, Sarah Manghi Ammerman is a licensed minister from the Philippines.  They met while she was doing ministry trips in Thailand.  CJ is a dual citizen, born while doing ministry in the mountainous Luzon region of the Philippines. Both Sarah and CJ were able to come to America in July of 2025 and now live with Tyler in Missouri.  Tyler is grateful for his parents, Eric and Lisa Ammerman for all the help they have given him to record his first single and get it to streaming platforms and radio.
