Jim and April Upton (Maaziah Mountain) began making music together before they were married in 1985. They continued performing Jim’s original compositions together as a couple, then as a family group as their children grew.
Over the years the make-up of the band changed, sometimes even the group’s name changed, but the focus always remained on Jim’s original songs. April, the voice of Maaziah Mountain, has been compared to Allison Krauss, Suzy Bogus, and Karen Carpenter. Their musical stylings were referred to by one radio personality as folk music played with bluegrass instruments. Some of their tunes are true Americana, but overall their music displays clear country, folk, bluegrass and gospel influences.
By the dawning of the year 2017, Jim and April’s musical journey had slowed to a stand-still. Their children and others who had played with them had moved on. “We really had no clear direction or vision for our music any longer,” said Jim. Early that year, however, the hand of Providence seemed to be moving in a new direction. Jim was reconnected to an old friend, Ron Adams, whose wife, Gemma, was in the process of recording an album in Nashville with gospel and inspirational country music legend, Chuck Day. During this process, Ron and Gemma had given Chuck some of Jim and April’s music. As a result, Chuck invited Jim and April to come to Nashville and record a song or two with him. That recording session evolved into a five song EP – The Kingdom Bound.
The first song released to radio (the title cut) rose to #45 on the Inspirational Country Music chart. Other releases are scheduled for the future and for Jim and April and Maaziah Mountain . . . the journey continues . . .

My Mama’s Letter
This song came about by a book sent to me from Teresa Kemp. It was her life story unfolding on the pages. In one of the chapters was a letter her mother wrote to her just before she left for her forever home with Jesus. Teresa was in prison and didn’t get the letter until after she was released. Having been sexually molested by a neighborhood boy at an early age changed everything about her and her future. It was a downward spiral… until she met Jesus in prison. Her life has completely changed. She now is the President and Founder of Breaking Chains International. A life that has experienced complete redemption by the grace and mercy of God. Teresa has shared her testimony on stage with Joyce Meyer and other TV media. To God be all the glory and honor.
I tried to stay as close to the letter as possible. May it bless every ear it falls on and help bring healing to all who have suffered at the hands of an abuser.

New Journey is passionate singing ministry with a desire to be a vessel in which God can extend His love, healing, restoration, and salvation through song and testimony.
The individual members of New Journey have been ministering the Gospel in song for over 30 years. They have seen many souls come to know the Lord as their personal savior and are quick to let you know, it’s not by them, but the drawing power of the Holy Spirit at work in their lives. John 12:32 says “If I (God) be lifted up from the earth, I will draw all men unto me”.

Gary Gard has announced the release of his first CD, “Looking Back”. The album is a collection of 10 original songs based on his memories of growing up on the Outer Banks, expressing love for those close to us, tributes to those who have defended this country’s freedoms and a couple of “just for fun” numbers.
Gary has been performing for most of his life, from his teen years in Coastal North Carolina, to playing sit-in gigs in Hawaii and California while in the US Navy, to singing with the Southern Gospel group, “Country Sonshine” in the 80’s. Gary took a break from performing for more than 20 years to spend more time with his family. After retiring in 2008, Gary resumed performing, playing “solo gigs” around the Tidewater area and on the Outer Banks of NC. With the release of “Looking Back”, he is embarking on a new course for his music, writing and recording original material.
As a Navy Veteran it is only fitting that he included two songs reflecting on his time sailing on submarines. In the song, “Eternal Patrol”, you will hear the numbers, “589” and “593”. Those are the hull numbers of the USS Scorpion and the USS Thresher, respectively; two submarines lost at sea. As a boy growing up on the Outer Banks he was exposed to what’s known today as “Beach Music”. “Do They Still do the Shag in Carolina?” is sure to be a favorite and in the song “Dancing at the Casino”, you will hear a “tip of the cap” to one of Dare County’s own, Scooter Lewis and the Royal Seven, one of the most popular bands of the era. Other songs will bring back memories of walking the beaches and sailing the seas in a hard-northeast wind."

2015 Award winning and Covenant Award nominee, Maureen is one of 4 siblings. She grew up attending the First Baptist Church, singing in the choir and playing the piano and guitar. There she met and later married her childhood sweetheart, Rick, and is blessed to be part of their very musical family.
Now living in Grand Forks in Southern B.C , Canada, Maureen has continued singing and over the past few years has begun to write and record Gospel music. She and her husband released their first gospel album together in 2013, We're Gonna Raise the Roof, which was very well received by worldwide radio and garnered spots on top international charts.
With Rick stepping back into a more supportive role, Maureen has gone on to record her debut solo album in late 2014, It's Time, an uplifting, thought provoking and inspirational collection of Country/ Southern Gospel songs, which was nominated in 2015 for 2 Covenant Awards by the Canadian Gospel Music Association.
In November 2016, Maureen released a Christmas CD of traditional songs done in a very mellow and easy listening style, All is Calm: Christmas with Maureen Haworth. With all the excitement of the Christmas season, her goal was to put out a collection of songs to relax and unwind with. It even comes with a tea bag and ribbon so you can take a breather, settle back and enjoy the calm and soothing songs of Christmas.
This album was very recently nominated (2017) for 2 Covenant Awards by the Canadian Gospel Music Association.
Maureen is performing in churches, concerts and festivals, sharing her music ministry and praising Jesus.
She feels extremely blessed to be able to mix her love of God with her love of singing and song writing, hoping to touch and move people with her songs.
